From the Publisher

"Abdelazer" was written in 1676 by British playwright Aphra Behn. Subsequently, composer Henry Purcell wrote incidental music for this play in 1695. The movements arranged here for flute ensemble are as follows: Overture, Rondeau, Air, Air, Minuet, Air, Jig, Hornpipe and Air. Most notably, the Rondeau was used by Benjamin Britten as the basis for his famous composition, "The Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra."
