From the Publisher
This selection of music for five flutes comes from across the history of Music, ranging from Dowland to Nielsen. Each of the pieces presents different challenges, be they the cross rhythms of Dowland, the independent lines of Palestrina's polyphony, the precision of Bach, the expression of Faure or the clean lines and exposed intonation of Nielsen. The Bass Flute part may be played equally (or perhaps even preferably) on a contrabass flute, and any low Bs may be played an octave higher if a B foot is not available.
