As the title suggests, ON THE MOVE is a perky Allegro full of charming optimism. Louke wrote this trio for three matching flutes of any size, equally suitable for three C flutes or any combination of matching low flutes. The 5½-minute work is in Fast-Moderato-Fast form, and suitable for students through professionals. Phyllis Louke composed ON THE MOVE to premiere herself, along with Sharon Byer and Paige Long on three contrabass flutes, at the 2020 International Low Flutes Festival in Tokyo
