“Extraordinary!”
This imaginative piece is extraordinary! To deliver the random nature of the text Nicole Chambelain really stretches her performers, using beatboxing techniques for the bass flute and a variety of vocal effects for the soprano. The dexterity required of both performers to rapidly alternate between them is very challenging. The result is absolutely crazy - Lear would have loved it!
From the Publisher
“More Nonsense” was composed for Dr. Hillary LaBonte and Dr. Mary Matthews to premiere at the 2020 International Low Flute Festival in Urayasu, Japan. The piece uses the text found in Book of Nonsense by Edward Lear (1812-1888). The limericks are silly, whimsical, crazy, strange, fun, and should not be taken seriously. Feel free to be ridiculous.
