We are very lucky to have this special piece of flute music as luckily it resurfaced in 1970. It originally only had nineteen bars but Faure delivers so much in this short time frame. It highlights the flute at its most beautiful with lovely sweeping phrases that are the essence of tonal control and musical awareness. It is now standard practice to play the 19 bars twice and this slightly more substantial version can now take it's place on the concert platform. It really is a little gem.
