The short and varied exercises are designed to give pupils the maximum experience of using the principles of theory in the minimum of time, while the careful use of examples ensures that only a limited amount of teacher instruction should be required to complete them.
The books have a wide application, and are equally as useful in the classroom as part of the National Curriculum as they are in one-to-one instrumental lessons, in fact wherever there is a need to introduce music theory. Books 1 & 2 in the series are intended to be used in pairs concurrently. Pupils complete the exercises in one book, which can then be marked by the teacher while the pupil completes corresponding exercises in the other.
