''Moai'' - the miniature for solo flute originated as a result of my fascination with the huge statues (Moai) found on the Easter Island (Rapa Nui) in the Pacific Ocean. The island belongs to Chile, where I stayed for two weeks in 2003. [P. Lukaszewski]
