“Imaginative and challenging!”
This is a musically challenging work that will not suit everyone. The parts themselves are playable but the dissonance in the tonality and the use of basic extended techniques will take a bit of adjusting to. If you are adventurous though, you will be rewarded by an unusual set of 4 movements describing seaside activities like walking on the beach and dancing in the storm. You need imagination and courage for this but it's a really good piece - try it and you'll be hooked!
From the Publisher
On the one hand, the sea represents the present time of a homogeneous whole, with a seemingly regular movement or no movement at all, on the other hand there are numerous tiny movements on the surface, which seem to be independent of each other, even though they are alinged in the same direction. But no wave is like the other. The titles of the 4 movements are: Waves playing on the beach - Dancing in the storm - Fog - Walk on the beach.
