From the Publisher
Kurpian Impressions is a work of a didactic character, from the youthful period in the oeuvre of Pawel Lukaszewski. It is distinguished by its vitality and lightness. The composer introduces an interesting stylisation of varied character, referring to the traditional song repertoire, in which the flute part is given a vocal treatment. This seemingly uncomplicated work poses considerable challenges for the performers in terms of interpretation.
Kurpian Impressions is often performed by young flautists and has gained a permanent place in the Polish flute canon.
