Kintsugi for Solo Flute
- Interesting, worth a look
From the Publisher
Inspired by the ancient Japanese art of joining small broken ceramic pieces with gold – Kintsugi, Nuno Peixoto de Pinho develops in Kintsugi for flute solo (2021) a sustained creation in the combination of small musical gestures through the “golden” sound of the flute. Exploring the technical and timbre agility of the instrument, challenging the performer with accurate rhythmic precision in a fascinating game of dynamic oscillations and articulations interspersed with silences, we are faced with a stimulating work for the young flutist performer, whether at the rhythmic level, in the different possibilities and articulation variations, as well as in the field of flexibility based on the instrument’s constant register changes and contrasting dynamic changes.
