During a visit to Denmark in December 1829 A. B. Fürstenau (1792‐1852) performed his variations on the Romance Dybt i Havet („Deep in the Sea“) from Elverhøj („Elves’ Hill“), the greatest success of his Danish friend Kuhlau. Shortly afterwards these variations were edited by Lose in Copenhagen as his opus 72.
