Our Description

Szelényi (1904-72) studied with Kodaly and later taught at the Academy of Music and the Conservatory in Budapest. He chiefly wrote chamber music and material for his students.
Simple, chordal streams in the piano accompany a rhapsodic, improvisatory saxophone part, strongly influenced by Eastern European folk music.
