Improvisation and Finale by Charles DeLaney for Flute and Piano. Originally composed for flute and orchestra, this edition features a piano reduction by Karl Barton. DeLaney’s distinctly American compositional style is best defined as neo-Romantic, heavily inspired by poetry, novels, and mythology. The recording below is a live performance from the Brevard Music Center on July 26, 1986, with Charles DeLaney as soloist with the Transylvania Symphony Orchestra.
