“A beautiful piece.”
Chris Hankin Just Flutes staff member - [email protected]
This heartfelt Idyll from the Ukranian composer Theodore Akimenko (1876-1945) is simple and very effective. The piece develops through from a plaintive cadenza, a warm and generous main theme, a gentle scherzo to a peaceful ending. It's lovely to play, great to listen to and just beautiful!
From the Publisher
The Idyll Op. 14 by the Ukrainian composer Théodore (Fedir) Akimenko is both profound and imaginative. The piece unites early 20th-century European music traditions and echoes of Ukrainian folk songs. A very charming salon piece for lessons and concerts, which this new edition should help to rediscover.
