“Happy Christmas!”
It's so refreshing to play seasonal music which is completely original but still sounds like Christmas. Opening up with a bright Festive Fanfare which is full of cheery humour, the Nativity Lullaby has its melody punctuated by bells and the Christmas Dance is a nod to popular Christmas music from the 1950s and 60s. It's all underpinned by subtle jazz harmonies which add an extra twist. It really is a Happy, Jazzy Christmas!
From the Publisher
Three short yet charming Christmas flavoured flute quartets.
“I wanted to write a suite of short but fun pieces loosely based on my Jazz Suite series — but with a seasonal flavour. I didn’t want to arrange existing Christmas tunes, but to come up with some original pieces which sounded warm and Christmassy. The suite was written for the Hampshire-based flute ensemble, Flute Salad, whose members and director Louise Williams, have done a wonderful job supporting my flute music.” - Jayson Mackie, Cardiff, 2012
Don’t miss the lovely video recorded by the fabulous Barry Griffiths.
