Guo "New Voice" Piccolo, Saddle Brown
Manufacturer's Description
The New Voice piccolo flute is a radical new concept in piccolo design. Using engineered high-grade polymers, a material which is free from distortion caused by temperature and humidity changes, it has excellent stability and accuracy of performance with a wide audio range. This is a real advantage to players who are required to play their piccolos in marching bands or in outside ensembles. New Voice piccolo flutes need no warming up before reaching their full potential of registers. With a total weight of only 118g, any burdens on the performer's body are significantly reduced. New Voice is an excellent choice for anyone needing a high quality professional-level piccolo flute.
Our Description
Geoffrey Guo is the creative genius behind the Grenaditte flute, and came up with the original design for the hugely popular Pearl piccolo. The New Voice piccolo is the next logical step in the Guo product range.
Don't be fooled by the cute look of this piccolo - this is one serious instrument! It is incredibly light - just 118g. That is about 20% lighter than other resin piccolos, and this makes it respond to a whisper. The special composite material has a warm sound, close to wood - but at a fraction of the price. Unlike wood, composite materials can't crack. The mechanism is comfortable under the fingers, and the inclusion of both a split E and high G# mechanism at this price are unheard of.
We can highly recommend trying this piccolo when comparing against the Yamaha YPC-62 and Pearl PFP-105E.
About Guo Musical Instrument Co
The Guo Musical Instruments Company had its humble beginnings in 1988. Although their initial handcrafted flutes offered only minor alterations to the original Boehm system, in 2003 the company introduced the Cermet Flute, thereby marking the beginning of what has become a devoted journey into the innovation of flute manufacture and design. This initial step, which remains a hallmark of all GMIC flutes to this day, was characterised by the exclusive use of computerised engineering for all aspects of an instrument construction and design. This allows for a level of consistency and reliability that had simply never been available by any other previous method.
