From the Publisher
Some of Felix Mendelssohn's earliest compositions include a set of 12 string symphonies which he composed between the ages of 12 and 14. Coming from a wealthy family, a private orchestra often premiered his works at chamber concerts held in his home. This arrangement by Shaul Ben-Meir consists of the first movement of Sinfonia No. 9, the Grave-Allegro.
