“And why not?!”
Chris Hankin Just Flutes staff member - [email protected]
If you don't mind your classics arranged for two flutes you might find this book really useful. There are some real technical challenges here which means that the character of the original comes across more clearly, and some of the duets are more substantial than you would normally expect from this type of compilation. There are details about each one which is interesting too. The whole presentation tells you that this should be a fun experience, which belies the fact that the book is actually quite hard! Classics for two flutes made difficult? I say yes!

The Flying Flute Book of Devilish Duets for Advanced Flutes comprises 13 unsettling duets for daring flute players. (All famous classics, and not for the faint-hearted!)

A few are tricky, some less challenging, and are arranged so that the level of difficulty suits players of Grade 6-8. Notes span over three octaves, from low C to high Bb. Expect plagues of spoooky tunes, some complex rhythms, and plenty of soaring melodies. Something for everyone!
