From the Publisher
This remarkable flute trio by George Hargreaves is contained in an anthology in the library of the Eastman School of Music, which also features trios by Kummer, Kuhlau, Walckiers and others. Unfortunately no life data of the composer are handed down in this anthology, so it is to be seen whether one day light will still penetrate into the darkness of the origin of this author. Stylistically, the work is located in the first half of the 19th century. It was printed at the time in London and probably later included in this anthology.
Our Description
George Hargreaves was considered second only to Nicholson as a flute player. He died in 1869 in Cheshire. This is a very tuneful work!
