“'Short and Sweet...'”
I can hear the cry of 'on no - not another flute technique book!' from here, but this one does have enough twists to warrant a second look. Divided into the three tried and tested sections of tone, fingers and articulation, there are several reasons why this is interesting. Firstly, the subsections are all short, making it easier to target your practice more successfully. Secondly, the tone chapter adds contemporary techniques such as beatboxing to the usual interval and colour exercises. Lastly, it starts and ends with a piece of music. The idea behind this book is that a student of any level can construct a manageable practice plan of their own and there is a chapter called 'Short and Sweet...' to get you started. Good on many levels and especially useful if you just need to kick-start a new routine.
