Clarinet Ensemble - Eb Clarinet, 3 Bb Clarinets, Bb Clarinet or Alto Clarinet, Bass Clarinet. Well known for his incredibly popular flute ensemble music, this piece brings Vincenzo Sorrentino's trademark style to the clarinet ensemble. With sliding grace notes and jazzy syncopations this piece sounds like a combination of fairground music and ragtime stylings. The Eb clarinet and Clarinet 1 both reach the top of the range, but the other parts are more manageable, although it needs a fair speed and some intelligent playing to bring out the humour in the music.
