From the Publisher
Originally this youthful work was conceived as a pure melody and then realized pianistically and harmonized. This leads us to think that the sad and melancholy ' song' can be entrusted to another instrument or even the human voice. The flute seems to be the instrument that best interprets the reflective and melancholy spirit of the Elegia.
