Our Description
Christoph Schaffrath (1709-1763) was an important musician and composer at the court of Frederick ll. In later years he was appointed "harpsichord player and chamber musician of Her Royal Highness Princess Amalie of Prussia". This edition is based on the first print of the Six Duets op.1 owned by the National Library in Berlin. Three of these six duets were written for flauto traverso and harpsichord obbligato. The duet presented here is entitled Duetto IV and was written for flauto traverso.
