Divertissement Grec for Flute Quartet

“A great introduction to Gaubert.”
Divertissement Grec, originally for two flutes and harp, lends itself very well to a transcription for four flutes. The hypnotic character of this piece means that it is possible for all four flutes to have the main melody at various points as well as giving everyone a chance to develop their ensemble skills negotiating the bass and inner parts. Roz Trubcher is a master arranger so it all works perfectly, and is a great introduction to the wonderful world of Gaubert.
From the Publisher
Although the title suggests an image of Greece or Greek music, the style of this music is distinctly French. Originally written for 2 flutes and piano, this arrangement creates a relaxing, slightly lush quartet that is very pleasant to play. The arranger is a flute player so all four flutes get an interesting part to play.
