From the Publisher
A 4-color, cheerful cello tutor for early instrumental lessons with children aged 5-9. The subject matter is conveyed in a playful and descriptive manner; The title Cello-Bear already shows this: It helps the child to experience the peculiarities of the instrument and to identify with it. The cello is first tried out, a picture story is set to music, then the first songs and rhythms are played. This introduction to the instrument happens without notes, so that the idea of the sound and hearing or listening to oneself are in the foreground. This is followed by playing with open strings, but not as a dry exercise, but in a playful and creative way: the children make different rhythm cards with which they "cook" the cello baby a new meal every week. So they invent their bow and string exercises themselves, so to speak they are also composers from the beginning, but very cautiously, so that at the end of the first booklet they are playing and bowing at the same time. (3rd finger, cuckoo third).
Awarded the German Music Edition Prize 1997.
