From the Publisher

Corona for pianist(s) premiered by Yuji Takahashi and Toshi Ichiyanagi in Tokyo on February 1962. It is an experimental classical composition and the player is requested to play the music though he is at liberty to repeat the same piece if necessary and not to follow the numerical order.

Toru Takemitsu tends to the universal through the large range of forms and instrumental groups that he has handled: orchestral music with or without a soloist, aleatory music, vocal and choral music, chamber music or music for soloists, scenic or electronic music.
