Belgian composer Franz Constant (1910-1996) was born in Montignies-le-Tilleul and studied at the Charleroi Academy of Music and the Royal Conservatory of Music in Brussels. His composition teachers there were Leon Jongen, Francis de Bourguignon, and Jean Absil, as well as some additional studies with Henri Tomasi in Paris. His Concerto for Saxophone was composed in 1963 as the imposed piece for the conservatories in Brussels, Ghent and Mons.Item Details
