The Concerto in G minor (HWV 287) was written around 1703 while Handel was a young man still living in Hamburg. The four-movement form is rather unusual for the time. Even though the concerto was the first of three that Handel wrote for the oboe, it is referred to as Concerto No. 3 because it was not published until long after his death (circa 1863). This transcription includes a solo part for either the oboe or piccolo. The solo part has been edited based on prior studies as well as the articulations and phrasing of the strings parts, however, any favorite edition of the soloist may be used.Item Details
