From the Publisher
The Concerto was written in 1997 and had its first performance 11.12.97 in Kristiansand with the flutist Anne Lill Ree and Kristiansand Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Jan Stigmer. The performance was recorded for the Norwegian Broadcasting.
In the work I use my own themes and motives and have not borrowed material from other sources. The melodic and harmonic material has a tonal basis, but it still has a modern language - and a profile with challenges to the soloist and the orchestra.
In the edition of 2017 I have made some small alterations in the solo part and the orchestral material, that I hope will benefit the performance in a good way.
