From the Publisher
To pay homage to Sicily, (once called Trinacria meaning triangular island) which was a cradle of the Greco-Roman civilization, the composer has imagined three aspects that characterize it on an emotional level: the peaceful serenity of everyday life, the pitiful compassion of the character of the people, and the typically elegiac aspect of ancient history. In this way the three musical moments for flute and string orchestra were born, which highlight both the melodic characteristics of the flute and the virtuosic and acrobatic possibilities of the performer. Scored for flute and string orchestra, with a piano reduction included for rehearsal.
