Composer's Note:
This composition was written with generous funding from the National Flute Association. The composer thanks this fine organization and extends his gratitude to Tara Helen O’Connor who sponsored his nomination for the commission. Pat Spencer and Jayn Rosenfeld are also acknowledged for their good work as past and present Chair of the New Music Advisory Committee.
The electronic tape portion was realized at the Computer Music Center of Columbia University. Playback equipment of high professional caliber should be used in performance.
Though there are many redundancies in their application, accidentals carry through the measure unless canceled in the traditional manner.
