This volume of 34 familiar and not so familiar Scottish and Irish folk tunes in duet form is ideal material for teacher and student study, and recreational playing for two players of similar standard. The tune is always in the first part and the second part, which in the first few tunes matches the first in rhythm, is only slightly more difficult.
The book is suitable for beginners up to about grade 3, and covers the rhythmic styles of march, waltz, slow air, reel and jig, in easy keys (up to 3 sharps or 2 flats).
