- Interesting, worth a look
Our Description
The second Flute concerto by Mozart is one of the most played on this instrument. The publisher conflates three different cadences, created in the first half of the 20th Century. The cadence of the flute virtuoso Tillmetz of 1914 shows his fondness for the music of the classical period. The Karg-Elert cadence was posthumously published in 1934, but the sales had to be stopped soon because his work was defamed as "un-German" in National Socialism. The Gewandhaus flutist Bartuzat finally wrote his own contemporary improvisation in 1949.
