This volume of 20 original solos for saxophone provides enjoyable and instructive material for the beginner saxophone player. It takes the student through common rhythmic styles (swing, rock, rock 'n' roll, jazz waltz, 6/8, 5/4, 12/8, 2/2) and figures in a variety of common keys. Blues harmonic and rhythmic styles provide excellent material for accidental, rhythm and rest reading. Included in this volume are fingering recommendations for Bb/A#.
This volume is the first in a series of two solo books; this volume is approximately grade 0-3 standard. The series covers grades 0-6. Also in the "Blues for" series are four duet books and one trio book.
Difficulty guide: 1-3
Difficulty level, roughly compared to ABRSM exam grades. 0 is total beginner, 9 is advanced (beyond grade 8).
