From the Publisher
This piece uses quotes from the symphonic literature (or perhaps 'misquotes'). The rapid tonguing passages are inspired by the flute solo from Saint-Saens Carnival of the Animals. Every flutist will recognize the infamous 'flute-lick' from Peter and the Wolf. Also included are bits of Ravel's Daphnis and a quirky distortion of L'Apres Midi. Improvisation is encouraged in all three parts throughout the piece.
Delightfully humorous, this piece gives serious flutists and flute lovers an opportunity to laugh at themselves and the many ways flutists are required to imitate birds. The words are WONDERFUL!!!
