From the Publisher
Composed in 1917, these two songs 'To be Sung of a Summer Night on the Water' were originally for wordless chorus, but work beautifully, in a slightly more robust way, for double reeds. The first is a tender, plaintive melody, while the second has a jolly theme reminiscent of 'Do you Know the Muffin Man'!
