“Imaginative music for solo flute”

Chris Hankin Just Flutes staff member - [email protected]

These seven pieces portray the life of birds in the country. Starting with the stillness of Dawn with the first hints of activity, the music takes us through the chatter of Birdsong as they swoop around and Bird Movements as they behave unpredictability. Sun Dance has two birds having fun in the sun before fighting in Conflict. This is followed by a very sad Lament before a Celebration brings all the themes together in flurry of notes. Highly recommended!

This marvellous suite of short unaccompanied bird pieces was written for Philippa Davies. It’s challenging, interesting and technically exciting. He is the same composer who wrote the theme tune for Play School and Victorian Kitchen Garden.
