- Interesting, worth a look
From the Publisher
Aria was commissioned by Amy Morris in 204. The commission was meant to explore and expand the Theme Variations genre. Scottish composer McGuire was chosen because of his ability to write lyrically and idiomatically for the instrument. The piece incorporates and varies themes from two of McGuire's operas, The Loving of Etain and Helen of Braemore. The piece was funded in part by the Scottish Arts Council.
