A or Bb Clarinet (or alto saxophone) and Piano. Harmonically rich and seductive, with flowing lyrical lines interspersed with more dramatic, exclamatory sections almost like a recitative. Complex and difficult for both players, but a great showcase piece. Suitable for players of around Grade 7 upwards. The solo clarinet part is the same for Bb or A Clarinet, with a transposed piano part supplied.

Difficulty level, roughly compared to ABRSM exam grades. 0 is total beginner, 9 is advanced (beyond grade 8).
