“Glorious early Mozart!”
Chris Hankin Just Flutes staff member - [email protected]
There's always a feel-good factor to playing Mozart even when it's in a minor key, and this wonderful adaptation is a joy to play. It provides a full workout for a flute choir. Stamina and energy, understanding how to negotiate a fugue and making sure all the parts are balanced correctly are fantastic skills to learn and to be able to use such wonderful music to develop them is a treat. Shaul Ben-Meir knows how to make big groups work and this is just glorious!
From the Publisher
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart composed his Symphony No. 25 in G minor in 1773 when he was only 17 years old, and it is one of two symphonies (out of 41) which he composed in a minor key. The first movement (Allegro con brio), arranged for flute ensemble by Shaul Ben-Meir, is more famously known as the opening music of the 1984 film "Amadeus."
