A farrago is a confused mixture or hotchpotch of ideas, and that is exactly the intent behind this piece. The Almost Five Woodwind Quartet is often asked to perform for area churches and religious events, and this piece was specifically written to fulfill that need. As the work proceeds, it passes a plethora of very familiar camp songs and old church tunes between the instruments, giving both the listeners and the players a sonic adventure of tuneful discovery.
