The six flute duets op. 58 (with no. 5 presented here in a new edition) feature two parts of equal importance, beautiful thematic ideas, full-texture accompaniment, harmonic surprises and not least - as can be expected from an exceptional flutist such as E. Walkiers - virtuosity and brilliant effect in the best sense of the word. Their world is the larger (chamber music) concert hall, rather than the music room at home.
