Product Reviews: Ecstatic Dances for Two Flutes

Both the duets in this edition are a very welcome addition to the flute duet repertoire. The style combines minimalistist influences with Australian aborinal ryhthms and is accessible for players and listeners alike, although, initially, the first duet is rythmically quite challenging to learn. The second duet exists in many other arrangements, including viola duet and string quartet.

My one major criticism of this edition is that there has been no attempt to make page turns managable for either player and as it is printed in B4 format, photocopying of extra pages to facilitate turns is quite difficult. At £25.00 purchase price, there should have been more attention given to this.
