“Fantastic Low D”
Just received my MK Pro Low D Whistle, and it's love right from the beginning! I have played the flute, recorder and tin whistles but this is my first Low D, and I did quite a lot of research on different low D whistles before purchase and found almost nothing but praise for the MK Pro. The finish of the whistle is just beautiful (I got the black) and the whistle comes with a protective felt bag/case.
I'm very happy with my purchase, the whistle has a beautiful tone and is easy to play sound wise, it could be my experience with playing the flute that I get the first three octaves out pretty easily - or it just might be the MK Pro of which one review said 'it basically plays itself'. My piper's grip needs some serious training though, but I'm confident that it will come with time.
I'm happy to recommend this whistle to anyone looking to buy a high quality low D whistle! You will not be disappointed!
“Wonderful”
One day out of the blue, I had found myself falling in love with the sound of the whistle. It's sound was complex, yet pure, mysterious, yet so sweet. After many hours of research, I had only found eagerly positive reviews of the MK pro - bought it, and wow. It is everything it seems on youtube clips. It is VERY easy to play once you get used to piper's grip (I have very average hands, and yet I can play it comfortably without piper's grip as well, if I wanted too). But yet be patient - the tonal quality will increase gradually as your fingering technique, tounging, vibrato (and so on) comes along. Having played it less than a month, it is already sounding truly beautiful! Ah, to be in love
“Unbridled Happiness”
Long time flute player (mmm... since around 1971), including simple system flutes and whistles. Not going to name brands, but have owned and played quite a few... at least one costing more. The MK Pro played beautifully right out of the cold package when delivered, and just got richer sounding as it warmed to the room. Don't know how else to put it; I finally found what I've been looking for. I would say that I've been driving everyone in the house nuts with it - but they've been enjoying the sounds almost as much as me. Nice. A bonus is that it will tune down at least a half-step (semitone), so I can use it with my band and recordings. Thank you, MK Pro for a quality instrument and thank you Just Flutes for answering my questions and getting this to me in the States.
Cons? What cons? Pfffft.
Cheers :)
“Good low whistle”
Great - high quality low whistle - the bottom D needs a bit of getting used to though. But I'll get there.
