Product Reviews: Tipple Oboe Reed

Great item. Well packaged. Very pleased, as always. I always use Just Flutes for my musical equipment.

The reeds arrived promptly and my daughter was able to blow them in very quickly.

I used to use tipple when I was just starting out (around grades 3-5) as an adult learner. I moved away from them as I needed more resistance but recently bought one to try again as I’m looking for something for sustained playing. The medium Reed was quite open when it arrived so had to adjust that but it played well once closed in a little. The sound is bright and slightly raucous at first. The raucous sound has settled but it is still a loud bright Reed. Whilst I’m not using it for what I intended this has now found place in my concert band Reed box as it allows me to hold my own against the brass and I can play for long periods
