“A flute teacher recommends! ”
A pupil of mine was struggling to learn to hold the flute because of her tiny hands. Two of my colleagues recommended this to me (unfortunately we teachers are so busy they haven't had time to write reviews!) so her parents bought her one. I am very impressed with the quality of sound on this piccolo sized instrument - it has a beauty to it and I find the intonation very satisfactory. It is clearly not a cousin of the fife as I had wondered - but a real musical instrument. It's attractive and feels nice to hold, as well as looking nice with its colourful body and gem-studded keys. Because it isn't fully chromatic it doesn't need extra keys between the keys, making it very easy for small hands to cope with. My student loved it and got her confidence by playing it . After that she moved on to the Apprentice flute and I am convinced that the shining piper turned everything around for her.
Wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for a small flute for a little one who isn't ready for an Apprentice - or as a fun compliment to a larger size flute that can play at piccolo pitch and with a piccolo tone.
