“Wide range of Styles but Unified”
This book contains a wide range of styles in tribute to Paderewski. It includes some well-known composers, including Bartok, Milhaud and Martinu, some lesser-known composers and some little-known composers. It is interesting to play some of these pieces alongside pieces by Paderewski.
I have not played the pieces yet, but that is my impression from looking at the music. The pieces probably contain a mixture of the style of the composer's own style and the style of Paderewski, which usually makes for interesting playing and listening.
I selected this item for the reasons listed above.
The book is printed on good quality paper, with a shiny cardboard cover, well-bound. It looks as though it will last for years if looked after properly.
A book of works of this nature is very useful when looking for unusual pieces which are pleasing to the performer and the listeners.
This book was out of print for many years but has recently been reissued by Boosey & Hawkes, one of the most well-known music publishers in the world.
Overall, highly recommended for the adventurous pianist.
