Product Reviews: Hercules DS640BB Flute or Clarinet Stand with Bag

Very pleased with my Hercules clarinet/flute stand.

Although its more bulky than others I've used it won't fit inside the clarinet bell but it does come with a good carry bag in bright yellow.

However I prefer it because I find it more stable than any of the others I have used over the last 40 years and at a sensible price too.

I also have a double stand by Hercules so that I can use it for Bb and Eb clarinets when both are needed.

No regrets at all. Excellent. Try one you won't regret it.

Put simply, this is the best flute and/or clarinet stand on the market by a large margin - at any price. 'Best' meaning both design and functionality. It's built like a tank so is very stable (otherwise what's the point?). Velvet peg means no chance of damage to instruments with continual use. I also think it looks the business. Much kudos is due to Hercules for a superb design. Personally, I would not trust my (expensive) flute on any other stand I've ever come across. Add on the fact that spare velvet pegs are available and it's a 'no brainer'. If you're serious about looking after your kit on gigs or anywhere else, the search is over. Just get one.

I recently purchased a new flute and needed a better quality flute stand. My flute feels very secure on this stand.

Bought this to replace my K&M compact oboe stand which I have lost. Although this is sold as a clarinet stand, it fits an oboe nicely. The rubber feet on the ends of the legs stop the stand from sliding around on hard floors and the stand feels very stable. Heavier and bulkier than the K&M to carry around but hopefully harder to loose! I would definitely recommend it.

The stand is good quality, weighted and with a solid velvet peg. It will be heavy to carry around, but definitely keep my flute safe!
