“Beatboxing for Flute Choir!”
If you're into beatboxing then this is definitely the flute choir piece for you! Winner of the New Flute Choir Composition Award at this year's NFA, Chivy certainly delivers everything you might wish for in a contemporary piece. There is a relentless rhythmic drive underpinning the writing. The beatbox articulation and jet whistles are very percussive and in marked contrast to the cascading semiquavers that add the swirling texture. it's demanding certainly, but approachable by a good group committed to embracing this style. Have fun!
