Paulo Ghiglia. After graduating summa cum laude from the Music Conservatoire of Pescara, Italy, Paulo Ghiglia went on to study at the CRD of Aulnay-sous-Bois in Paris with renowned flautist Patrick Gallois, and was awarded the prestigious Prix d’Excellence à l’unanimité in 2013. He later completed his Masters in Gothenburg, Sweden, in 2016. A successful orchestra player, Paulo held the full-time position of Principal Flute for the Jyvaskyla Sinfonia (Finland) from 2016 to 2019 and has performed with the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, Gothenburg Opera, Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra, Turku Philharmonic Orchestra, Kymi Sinfonietta, Vaasa Sinfonietta, the New English Concert Orchestra. He has shared the stage with conductors and soloist of international standing like Santtu-Matias Rouvali, Klaus Makela, Barbara Hannigan, Fabio Luisi, Vikingur Olafsson, Jasmine Choi, Robert Trevino.Paulo is also an avid chamber musician, often performing in duo with guitar (Letizia Guerra, Oscar Ghiglia, Giuseppe Ficara) and in duo with piano with Jingle Gawley, and has performed in Italy, Spain, France, Switzerland, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark, the United Kingdom. Paulo has recorded for Warner Music Finland, BIS Records, Ondine Records, Alba Records and has performed live on Finnish national Television YLE and National Italian Radio RAI Radio3.

 

Eloise Kendall. Eloise graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2015 with a first-class bachelor’s degree in music, specialising in flute performance. For two consecutive years Eloise was awarded 1st prize in the University’s Summer Festival Soloist Competition, and after graduating, Eloise was invited back as a guest soloist to tour with the University of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra in the Netherlands, performing Mozart’s Flute Concerto in D major. After graduating from the Academy of Music & Drama in Gothenburg, Sweden, with a Masters degree in 2017, Eloise has embarked on a varied freelance career, working regularly with professional orchestras in both the UK and Scandinavia, including the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, Gothenburg Opera, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (CBSO), Jönköpings Sinfonietta and Orchestra of the Swan. In her final semester of study, Eloise was awarded 1st Prize in the Swedish National Orchestra Academy’s solo competition, performing Malcolm Arnold’s Concerto for Flute & Strings with the University of Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra and conductor Joana Mallwitz. Most recently, after successful audition Eloise has been on trial in the Scottish Opera orchestra and as Co-Principal Solo Flute in the Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra, Norway. In addition to orchestral work, Eloise has undertaken further study at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome, Italy, with Principal Flute of the National Orchestra of Italy Andrea Oliva.
